Duet

Terms of Service

This page keeps this version of the Duet Terms of Service unchanged for reference.

Version 2026-09-08Effective September 8, 2026Last updated September 9, 2026

01

Duet and these Terms

Duet is an iPhone app provided by Coda Compute, Inc., doing business as Coda Health. It helps you organize health information, view changes in your records and measurements, and prepare information for your doctor. These Terms govern your use of Duet and its related services.

You must use Duet lawfully and provide information or connected-service access only when you have the right to do so.

02

Eligibility and cost

You may use Duet only if you are at least 18 years old and live in the United States. By choosing I agree and continue, you confirm both requirements and accept the version of these Terms linked in the app.

Duet is currently offered without a subscription price or in-app purchase. Your device, internet, mobile-data, healthcare, and third-party service costs remain your responsibility.

03

Not medical care

Duet organizes your health information and may describe a change or pattern or repeat a finding from a connected record. It does not determine what that information means medically.

Duet does not diagnose conditions, assess your personal medical risk or prognosis, determine clinical significance or urgency, identify causes or medication effects, or recommend tests, treatments, or dose changes. It does not provide medical reassurance, monitor emergencies, or replace a qualified healthcare professional.

Duet's observations and doctor summaries are for organizing and communicating information. They are not medical conclusions or recommendations, even when they suggest discussing information with a doctor.

Do not use Duet for an emergency or time-sensitive medical decision. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact emergency services. Always seek professional medical advice for questions about diagnosis, treatment, medications, or changes in care.

04

Your account

Duet requires Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple account and device and for activity under your Duet account. Do not allow another person to use your account or attempt to access another person's account without permission.

The private key used for Duet sharing remains on the registered iPhone. Replacing a lost key pauses sharing, removes old encrypted payloads, and requires fresh approval from connected people.

05

Connected services

You may authorize Duet to read information from Apple Health, one or more Epic MyChart organizations, or another supported source shown in the app. Access is limited to the permissions you grant and the visible Duet features you request. You may disconnect a source through Duet or revoke access through the provider.

Disconnecting ends future access and refresh and removes saved provider credentials, but previously imported history and its source provenance remain in Duet until separately removed where Duet offers that control or until account deletion.

Third-party services have their own terms, availability, and data practices. Coda Health does not control those services and is not responsible for provider outages, delayed device synchronization, or information the provider does not make available.

06

AI features and your choices

AI features are optional. Duet asks for permission once information from a connected source is available. If you choose Allow AI, Coda may use selected health facts for automatic insights and the information and notes you choose for a doctor summary. We use third-party AI services as described in the Privacy Policy. Choosing Not now keeps the rest of Duet available.

You can pause AI features or withdraw AI permission in Settings. Pausing keeps your permission so you can resume later. Withdrawing permission stops future AI processing. Neither action deletes information already in your account.

AI-generated information may be incomplete or inaccurate. Review insights, corrections, doctor summaries, exports, and sharing selections before relying on or sending them. A generated summary is not a medical record or a note written by a clinician.

07

Your information and choices

You retain your rights in the information you provide or connect. You authorize Coda Health to use it to provide, secure, and support Duet, consistent with the Privacy Policy and your choices.

Connecting a source, using Duet, or allowing AI does not authorize product-improvement or research use. Any future program requires separate, optional permission.

08

Sharing and exports

Duet lets you select information for another person or for your doctor. You control what you share and the destination. Coda Health cannot retract information after a recipient has viewed, downloaded, remembered, forwarded, or captured it.

Do not use sharing to harass, impersonate, deceive, or obtain health information without permission. You may stop or disconnect an active Duet sharing relationship through the app.

09

Acceptable use

You may not interfere with Duet's security or availability, reverse engineer or circumvent access controls except where law expressly permits, introduce malicious code, use Duet to violate another person's rights, or access systems or information without authorization.

10

Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue a feature when necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, provider requirements, or product operation. We will provide notice when reasonably practicable.

We may suspend or terminate access when required by law, needed to protect people or the service, or when these Terms are materially violated. You may stop using Duet and delete your account at any time.

11

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Duet is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. Coda Compute, Inc. disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that connected information is complete, current, uninterrupted, or error-free.

12

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coda Compute, Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or business interruption, arising from or related to Duet. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

13

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except to the extent mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

14

Privacy, changes, and contact

The Duet Privacy Policy explains how Coda Health handles information for Duet. We may update these Terms as Duet changes or legal requirements evolve. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. When Duet requires acceptance of a new version, the app will ask you to review and accept it before continuing to use Duet.
